GCDEAL · GIFT CARD SAFETY
Protect your card.
Stay in control.
A gift card code can allow someone to redeem its value. Keep your voucher details private and know what to check before you buy or sell.
Six habits for safer gift cards.
A quick checklist before you submit, share or pay.
01
Keep voucher details private
Never post a full gift card code or PIN in screenshots, reviews, social media or public messages. Anyone who sees the details may be able to redeem the card.
Hide the code before sharing a screenshot.
02
Use the right submission form
Enter voucher details only in GCDeal’s dedicated Sell Gift Card submission fields after checking the site address. Do not send codes through ordinary contact forms, email or social DMs.
Check that you are on gcdeal.in.
03
Check with the issuer
Use the brand’s official website, app or support to check balance, expiry and restrictions. Avoid unknown code-checking websites; a screenshot alone does not prove validity or ownership.
Keep receipts or gifting records available.
04
Protect your bank & UPI details
Never share banking passwords, OTPs or your UPI PIN with someone claiming to be support. Treat requests to approve an unexpected payment or collect request with caution.
A UPI PIN authorises a payment—it is not needed to receive one.
05
Watch for pressure & fake promises
Pause if someone demands an advance fee to release a payout, asks you to buy gift cards as payment, promises acceptance without checks or pressures you to act immediately.
Verify the request through official support.
06
Keep a record of your submission
Save your Gift Card ID and check My Listings for updates. Keep relevant correspondence and ownership records. Redact voucher codes and personal information in support attachments.
Share your reference, not your secrets.
Pause when you see these red flags.
“Pay a fee to unlock your payout.”
Verify unexpected fee demands with official support before paying.
“Send your OTP or UPI PIN.”
Do not share either with a support agent.
“Install this app so we can help.”
Do not allow an unknown person remote access to your phone or banking apps.
“Send the code now—no checks needed.”
A legitimate review may require verification. Pressure is a reason to stop and check.
Think your card details were exposed?
01 · Stop sharing information
Do not send more codes, payment details or documents to the suspicious contact.
02 · Contact the issuer promptly
Ask the gift card brand to check activity and whether it can protect the remaining value. Recovery is not guaranteed.
03 · Save evidence & report the concern
Keep messages and transaction references. Contact GCDeal if your submission is affected, and contact your bank or payment provider if money has been sent.
